"Be curious and say yes to opportunities! Some of the most meaningful steps in my own career came from taking chances that felt slightly outside my comfort zone. Those experiences built my confidence, expanded my network, and often led to paths I couldn’t have planned for. Stay curious, stay open, and trust that growth comes from engaging fully in the opportunities around you!"

My career path has centered around supporting college students as they explore their interests, clarify their goals, and connect their academic experiences to meaningful careers. I’ve worked primarily in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences with experience in academic advising, recruitment, and student success– which has ultimately led me to supporting students in their career readiness. I’m especially passionate about helping students build confidence in telling their story.

In my current role in Employer Relations and Career Services at Virginia Tech, I serve as a bridge between students and employers. I work to build and maintain strong partnerships with organizations while ensuring students are prepared to successfully pursue internships and full-time opportunities. I also coach students on professional readiness, networking, and articulating their skills while also designing programming that connects students directly with industry professionals. At the core of my work is helping students understand how to translate their academic experiences into language that resonates with employers, while also helping employers see the value and talent our students bring.

What I enjoy most is seeing students gain confidence in themselves. Many students start college unsure of their direction or worried about whether their major will “lead to a job.” I love helping them recognize the transferable skills they’re building and how those skills apply across industries. Being part of that growth process is incredibly meaningful!

One of the achievements I’m most proud of is leading the development and launch of the Find Your Career website—a first-of-its-kind online career exploration resource at Virginia Tech. This platform was designed to help students explore career paths from real alumni data. The website was something I was able to do in my first year of my current role and even won an award for the sites.
