After graduating with a B.S. in Computer Science, I worked for three years with assistive technology. I then started my career in the education industry at Radford University administering IT equipment for the library. I then moved to the Virginia Tech department of Biological Sciences where I ran multiple servers and provided desktop support for faculty and staff. I started working on a Masters of Information Technology degree with the tuition waiver program offered as a Virginia Tech benefit. I quickly found more opportunities and moved to a Linux System Engineer role followed by an HPC Specialist and HPC Team Lead.
