Before coming to Virginia Tech, I held several positions, including store manager at a children's consignment shop, paraprofessional in an elementary school, and bank teller. After moving to the area, I was eager to join Virginia Tech because my sisters both work here and have had very positive experiences.

I currently serve as the Staffing and Onboarding Specialist for Dining Services. In this role, I hire salary employees and assist with the hiring of wage and student employees. Dining Services employs over 2,000 student employees and approximately 500–600 wage and salary staff members. I manage recruitment efforts by attending job and career fairs as well as community events. I also coordinate tours of the dining halls for local high school. Additionally, I assist with the training and development of Dining Services employees. Besides being a VT Voices Ambassador, I also am a Wellness Champion with Hokie Wellness.

I enjoy the balance between office work and the opportunity to get out into the community. I also love working for Virginia Tech, especially Dining Services, and I enjoy sharing my journey and experiences with others. Also, the benefits and time off are exceptional!

I never completed college, and that has created challenges in the past when trying to move into other positions at work. Management in Dining Services recognized my strong work ethic and positive attitude, which helped me advance to my current position.
