Can you tell me what your first year was like?

I was in a unique career path at Virginia Tech since I started part time before moving into full time employment. So, my first year included a lot of getting to know the different offices within my area, how systems worked, the annual happenings of my program office, and other norms. That was extremely helpful for when a full-time opportunity became available because I was able to leverage the knowledge and relationships, I had grown to better carry out my full-time work. The first year is full of learning and people are overall very patient as you acclimate to the VT environment!
